HENRICO COUNTY – FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING FACILITY
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing system design for a new 10,800 SF, 1 story building with 6,500 SF of classroom, locker, kitchen, and office space, and 4,300 SF of storage space, including 3 apparatus bays for vehicle storage. The mechanical systems included gas fired radiant heating, overhead vehicle exhaust, and a building exhaust system controlled by the facility carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide gas detection system. A variable air volume system was used to condition the classroom, locker and office area. Plumbing design included domestic water, sanitary and vent, and natural gas piping. Electrical design included non-automatic transfer switch with connection point for owner’s portable generator. The facility interior and exterior lighting systems included LED lighting fixtures, and standalone dimming controls systems were included within the Classrooms and Conference Rooms.
